6von den Vorsitzenden leitete die Abstimmung Aktaios S.d. Simon aus dem Demos

28die Tochter des Königs Antiochos, den König Pharnakes geheiratet habe, und
29es sich ziemt, dass die Athener sich ihrer im Guten erinnern und in öffentlicher
30Weise die Wohltäter des Volkes und die Nachkommen von Wohltätern ehren: dass man belobige
31die König Nysa, die Tochter des Königs Antiochos und der Königin Laodike
32und bekränze mit goldenem Kranz gemäß dem Gesetz und verkündige
33auch diesen Kranz an den Dionysien in der Stadt bei der Tragödien-
34Uraufführung und an den Panathenäen und Eleusinien und Ptolemäen
35bei den Sportwettkämpfen; dass man von beiden, dem König Pharnakes und der
36Königin Nysa, je ein Standbild aus Bronze aufstelle und weihe auf
37Delos; dass für die Verkündigung der Kränze und der Standbilder Sorge tragen

39sogleich drei Männer unter allen Athener wähle, die

41Statuen; dass diesen Beschluss der Sekretär, der während der Prytanie amtiert,
42aufzeichne auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle neben den Standbildern; dass die für die
43Aufzeichnung auf die Stele entstandenen Kosten der Schatzmeister
44der Militärkasse begleiche. – Damit nun auch jetzt, da der Zeitpunkt passt,
45einer abgeordnet wird, um die fällige Rate zu holen entsprechend der Absicht
46des Königs und den von ihn erlassenen Anordnungen: dass
47das Volk sogleich einen Mann unter allen Athenern wähle, der nach seiner
48Ankunft bei dem König Pharnakes den Beschluss übergibt und ihn
49und die Königin vom Volk grüßt und, wenn es möglich ist, die
50fälligen Raten für dieses Jahr in Empfang nimmt; dass der Gewählte
51auch dem König vermeldet, dass das Volk versucht, ihn in keiner Weise weniger
52zu ehren als die anderen Könige, sondern alles, was der Ehre und dem Ruhm
53förderlich ist, ins Werk zu setzen wie auch für die anderen Wohltäter
54der Stadt; dass dem gewählten Mann der Schatzmeister der Militärkasse
55das Reisegeld begleiche. Als Gesandter zu dem König Pharnakes wurde gemäß
56dem Beschluss gewählt Philoxenos aus dem Demos Peiraieus. Als Verantwortliche
57für die Anfertigung und die Weihung der Standbilder gemäß dem Beschluss wurden folgende gewählt:

21committee allotted to preside at the forthcoming Assembly shall put this matter
22on the agenda, and submit the opinion of the Council to the People that it seems good
23to the Council to praise king Pharnakes and to crown him with a gold
24crown as a prize for excellence in accordance with the law and to proclaim this
25crown at the city Dionysia at the tragedies in the new competition
26and at the Panathenaia and the Eleusinia and the Ptolemaia during the gymnastic
27competitions; and since it has also been reported that queen Nysa daughter
28of king Antiochos has been married to king Pharnakes, and it is fitting
29that the Athenians demonstrate both that they are heedful of what is good and that they honour
30public benefactors and their descendants; to praise
31queen Nysa, daughter of king Antiochos and queen Laodike
32and crown her with a gold crown in accordance with the law and proclaim
33this crown too at the city Dionysia at the tragedies
34in the new competition and at the Panathenaia and the Eleusinia and the Ptolemaia
35during the gymnastic competitions; and to set up a bronze statue of both king
36Pharnakes and queen Nysa and dedicate them in Delos;
37and the generals and the treasurer of the military fund shall take care
38of the proclamation of the crowns and the statues; and
39the People shall elect, from all the Athenians, three men who
40shall take care of the construction and dedication of the
41statues; and the prytany secretary shall inscribe this decree
42on a stone stele and stand it next to the statues; and for the
43inscribing and the setting up of the stele the treasurer of the military fund
44is to defray the accrued cost; and as this would be a suitable opportunity
45for a man to be sent to fetch the payment that falls due to be given
46according to the king's choice and orders, the People shall elect
47in advance one man from among all the Athenians who, when he meets
48king Pharnakes is to hand the decree to him and to proclaim it
49both to him and to the queen on behalf of the People and, if possible, to
50obtain the instalment of money due this year; and the elected man is to inform
51the king that the People will endeavour to behave to him in a way that is
52not at all inferior to the way they treat other kings, but will collaborate in every way
53to enhance his reputation and memory just as they do for other benefactors
54of the city; and the treasurer of the military fund is to defray the travelling expenses
55of the man elected. The man who was elected to travel from home to king Pharnakes according
56to the decree was Philoxenos of Piraeus. The men elected to be responsible for the
57preparation and the dedication of the statues according to the decree
58were Leon of Aixone, Philoxenos of Piraeus and Dionysios of Myrrhinous.
